Columba 1400’s founding principles are warmth of welcome; warmth of hospitality and sense of being on a shared journey. We provide young people with a safe space in which they can discover their own values and how these can help them discover their true potential in life, education, work and community. We adopt an elicitation approach to everything we do and believe our intensive work with young people helps them develop key skills which they will use for the rest of their lives. Described by participants as an “inward bound” experience, Columba 1400 Leadership Academies involves taking individuals away to an inspiring new environment where they can leave any previous issues behind them. Every young person is given a clean slate and the space and support to realise for themselves all that they are capable of achieving and becoming.
