Today, Tuesday 3rd June 2025, we celebrate 25 years since the doors of our Purpose-Built Community and International Leadership Centre in Staffin on the Isle of Skye were opened by HRH The Princess Royal.

For 25 years, Columba 1400 has walked alongside young people from tough realities, and the key adults in their lives, helping them unlock their potential and lead lives of purpose, meaning, and contribution.

Our vision is that every young person and the key adults in their life share a common experience and understanding of values-based leadership which enables them to make real lasting change in their own lives and in their communities.

Over the past quarter of a century, we have seen transformation unfold again and again. In schools, family homes and communities, in quiet conversations and courageous decisions. And at the centre of it all: people. Young people discovering their voice. Adults rediscovering their purpose. Communities reimagining what’s possible.

25 Stories for 25 Years

As we mark this milestone, we are not only celebrating the story of Columba 1400 – but the thousands of stories it has made possible.

Over the coming year, we’ll be sharing 25 powerful stories from across the Columba 1400 community – stories of resilience, courage, and change.

These stories reflect the heart of our work and the lasting impact of values-based leadership. We hope they inspire, challenge, and reaffirm what we have always believed: that every young person, every family, and every leader has the potential to shape a better future.

We invite you to learn more about our work and if you can, to support us by donating or taking part in a Kiltwalk or another challenge this year, so that we can continue to reach young people from tough realities, and the key adults in their lives, for the next 25 years!
