We are proud to see Columba 1400 recognised throughout a new independent report, commissioned by The Scottish Government, evaluating the impact of the Clackmannanshire Family Wellbeing Partnership (FWP).
The report concludes that the wellbeing of individuals and families in Clackmannanshire has improved as a result of the work underway across the Council and with partners. The impacts include reducing social isolation, increased confidence when engaging with public services, improved wellbeing and increased engagement across employment, education and training.
It highlights our Values-Based Leadership Experiences as a pivotal influence in shifting leadership culture, strengthening trust, and creating the conditions for transformational change across the system, describing Columba 1400 as ‘crucial to the successes of the FWP approach’.
Since 2017, Columba 1400’s work in Clackmannanshire has been described by many as the “golden thread” running through the Clackmannanshire Family Wellbeing Partnership (FWP) – connecting local authority services, schools, and communities through a shared experience of values-based leadership.
At the heart of our work is a belief that when young people and the key adults in their lives share a common understanding of leadership grounded in values, real and lasting change becomes possible. In Clackmannanshire, this belief is put into action every day – helping to transform lives.
➡️ Over 250 people in Clackmannanshire – including young people, families, teachers, council leaders and practitioners – have participated in Columba 1400 experiences.
➡️ Columba 1400 has supported young people to develop leadership, self-confidence and community involvement – from Breakfast Clubs to Pupil Parliaments.
➡️ Almost every worker interviewed as part of the evaluation, cited their experience of the Columba 1400 Values Based Leadership Programme as pivotal in giving them space and time to reflect with others on personal and shared values, and foster their commitment to the work of meaningful change.
The evaluation clearly shows that lasting system change isn’t just about structure – it is about people, relationships, and trust. We are proud to be part of this ongoing journey with Clackmannanshire Family Wellbeing Partnership (FWP) where the focus is firmly on leading with values.
