In a recent report, Clackmannanshire Council has been praised by local authority watchdog the Accounts Commission for its outstanding leadership, collaboration, and strong community engagement.
A notable success story is the Council’s Family Wellbeing Partnership (FWP) approach, where Columba 1400 serves as a key partner.
Formed in 2020, the FWP is a collaboration between Clackmannanshire Council, the Scottish Government and The Hunter Foundation via the Social Innovation Partnership.
Columba 1400 supports values-based leadership activity with partners, young people, families, individual community members, community groups, Council staff and elected members, creating the conditions for a community of change makers to emerge.
The FWP has brought resources and staff closer to the people they serve, while ensuring that community members play an integral role in the design and delivery of services. This shift in delivery and approach is strengthening collaboration with community organisations and partners and is enabling Clackmannanshire Council to continue to support its communities and improve outcomes for local people.

Nikki Bridle, Chief Executive of Clackmannanshire Council, expressed her gratitude: “My thanks go to our staff, our communities, our partners, and our collaborators for their hard work and support in helping us achieve this recognition. I look forward to continuing our joint efforts on our shared goals for Clackmannanshire. Though we face many challenges, we are committed to overcoming them together.”
With these achievements, Clackmannanshire Council continues to demonstrate the power of collaboration and strong leadership in creating resilient, flourishing communities.
Columba 1400 is thrilled to continue working alongside the Family Wellbeing Partnership and its communities to drive a leadership culture where people do things differently.
